Curriculum

As a school we are proud of the curriculum that we offer to all our children at all ages and abilities. Alongside delivering the National Curriculum, we have also developed and innovated our school curriculum to ensure creativity, as well as use of up to date methods of teaching such as Visual Literacy.

Across all year groups the curriculum is designed to be broad and balanced whilst stimulating to all the children, ensuring that basic skills (important to a child’s development) are delivered and practised.

Our adoption of the Government approved ‘phonics’ based early reading scheme, ‘Read Write inc’ ensures that our children in Reception Class and Key Stage 1 receive reading and writing lessons that are accurately matched to their ability. Ensuring their confidence develops and progress is secured. This approach aims to develop a love of reading.

We hope that all children, when looking back at their time at Our Lady’s, will feel that their time was one of enjoyment, stimulation and pride in what they achieved.
