At our school, we call the pupil-led chaplaincy team our ‘Shining Stars’.

Our Shining Stars are excellent role models for our other pupils as they are skilled at planning Celebrations of the Word and are confident in delivering these. They share their ideas with enthusiasm and have a good liturgical awareness. The older Shining Stars support the younger ones, and they work collaboratively as a team when planning and delivering Celebrations of the Word and other types of liturgies.

Please check back soon to watch our video which will introduce and celebrate our current Shining Stars.

In April 2024, we welcomed Mrs Wright into our school. Mrs Wright works as a Lay Chaplain for the Our Lady of Lourdes Trust and visits our school every Friday. Prior to starting officially with us, Mrs Wright visited our school during the Lent term to plan class Celebrations of the Word with small groups of pupils using the Let Us Pray resources. We are looking forward to working with Mrs Wright to further enhance our Catholic Life, Mission, and Collective Worship.

In addition to our own Chaplaincy Team, we are also privileged to be able to use the resources and support of our Trust Chaplaincy Team. Click here to find out more.

Shining Stars

The Shining Stars regularly plan and deliver prayer and liturgies for the whole school, including retreat days. Here are some photos from when our Shining Stars planned and delivered a Lenten retreat.
