The pupil premium is additional funding to publicly funded schools in England.
It is designed to help disadvantaged pupils, of all abilities, perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers.
Schools are accountable for how they have used the additional funding and must publish information relating to Pupil Premium on-line to ensure all stakeholders are fully aware of the impact of the premium. Government performance tables also capture the achievement of those covered by the Pupil Premium.
