Getting Busy in the Garden!
The children in Reception class have been very busy this week; gardening in their brand new planting area! First of all they had to water and rake the soil to get it ready for theplanting the new plants. The class were very lucky as their helper Mrs Brocklebank brought in a wonderful shrub from her own garden for them to plant. Mrs Smith helped a few children to plant this, being careful to ensure that it was planted in a big enough hole to keep it secure in the ground. Next, the other children took it in turns to plant lettuces, leeks, and white sprouting broccoli! They spread them out far enough that each plant had enough room to grow. The last job to do was to give all of the plants a really good watering. A job very well done by everybody! The children really can not wait until the vegetables are fully grown and they get to taste them!
